Learn how to gain a complete understanding of how to communicate fairly and equally with others based on a positive sense of respect for yourself and others.  Communicate your needs, wants and opinions without putting others down.

Be an Expert PowerPoint Presentation Creator

A practical workshop focused on the mechanics of creating PowerPoint presentations that help you as speaker be more connected to your audience. Become familiar with how to structure PowerPoint presentations that support clear messages.

OBJECTIVES

  • Gain an understanding of design and colour theories in relation to PowerPoint

  • Apply different slide sizes and layouts and add sections

  • Discover skilful ways to present content

  • Work with illustrations, images and tables

  • Input and manipulate media

  • See how best to work with themes

  • Apply stylish slide animations and transitions (including morph)

  • Become aware of the best ways to share presentations

TARGET AUDIENCE

Be an Expert Presenter

Be an Expert Secretary

Managing another person's day is no easy task.  Being in tune with the way your manager operates and working in sync with them helps constitute a strong and productive team. This workshop aims to teach the detail of how to be a successful secretary, personal assistant or an administrator with practical guidance that you will find extremely useful.

OBJECTIVES

  • Understand what skills, qualifications and behaviours are required for the role

  • Know what your manager is expecting from you and vice-versa

  • Become familiar with the organisational and administrative tools at your disposal

  • Plan your tasks and your day

  • Gain an overview of secretarial basics (telephone technique, typing, note-taking, filing, and diary management)

  • Know how to receive visitors, book meetings and take minutes of meetings

Be an Expert in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

OVERVIEW

Microsoft Office is in commonplace use in all areas of our lives  and being competent in its use can be of immense value. Being able to use a computer skilfully enables us to be efficient and highly productive, especially in the workplace. Learn the fundamentals through to advanced levels of the most popular Microsoft applications being Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.

OBJECTIVES

Fundamental (Level 1)

Become familiar with the use of the four applications to enable you to undertake basic tasks to gain confidence in creating and editing documents, spreadsheets and presentations and creating and sending emails.

Intermediate (Levels 2-3)

If you are already familiar with using a computer and have already grasped the basics, this level is the next step up to help improve your digital skills and your efficiency.

Advanced (Level 4)

Gain high level competency in the use of Microsoft Office to enable it to work to your advantage. Surprise yourself by seeing how easily you can learn complex skills that can make a significant difference to the way in which you use the software to manage tasks, increase your productivity and make a real difference to how you use the computer going forward.

  • Intermediate - Those who know the basics of computing but use it infrequently and are looking to stretch their knowledge and boost their confidence in IT.

Be an Expert Trainer

Become skilled at sharing knowledge with others in a clear, concise and coherent manner. Learn how to read body language to ascertain whether or not learning is taking place, and how to adapt your teaching to suit different learning styles and gain successful achievement of learning aims.

  • Understand how we learn

  • Ascertain learners' needs and skills gaps through training needs analyses

  • Prepare for and structure training sessions by compiling session plans

  • Track learning via assessments and undertake self-evaluation

  • Know how to cater to visual, auditory and kinaesthetic (VAK) learning styles 

  • See what good classroom management looks like (including building rapport with learners and dealing effectively with disruptive behaviour)
